Iodine And Allergies
71Allergies,Radiation,Weight Loss And Other Iodine Health Benefits.
Is radiation from the Japanese nuclear power plant a threat or not? If it is, most people have hopefully taken precautions by saturating their system with iodine. If it isn’t a direct radiation threat, and the precautions concerning iodine have been taken, you probably had an overall feeling of improved health. If precautionary iodine was used, you may experience unforeseen and unexpected health benefits in the future, at least short term. There are reasons for the benefits.
The largest percentage of people in the United States are deficient in iodine. Iodine deficiencies have a direct effect on thyroid function and overall health. Low thyroid function, hypothyroidism, weight gain, lethargy, decreased mental acuity, the inability to lose weight, brittle and splitting fingernails and hair, hair loss, lowered immune function, which can lead to cancer and more.
If you used the procedure I outlined in my article http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/7867980/radiation_cloud_nears_western_north.html?cat=5, you are now aware that it’s possible to periodically check for adequate iodine levels and to easily and inexpensively improve thyroid health.
One part of the process in my article I thought was obvious but missed was; Allow the iodine to dry before putting clothes over the blotch in order not have the iodine absorbed by garments. Apply it where it’s not likely to be rubbed off by clothes. Iodine stains are next to impossible to remove.
Following is my Ah-Hah experience. I periodically check my iodine levels but we’ve been very busy and it had gotten pushed down on the list of things to do. When the radiation cloud from Japan began drifting toward the North American continent, we took the precaution of saturating our bodies with iodine using the method outlined in my other article
We live in our motorhome during the summer but it’s too cold here in the winter, so we house sit for friends while they travel. A lot of the houses in the community were built in the early twentieth century, some during latter parts of the nineteenth century.
One house where we stayed was built during the gold rush days in the mountains a few miles from town. Some years after the boom times, the house was moved to town and remodeled. After the remodeling, the only heat source has been electric. The electric heat is barely sufficient and parts of the house are cool and damp, making it a perfect location for mold and mildew. During our stay, I began to notice an allergic reaction and suspected the mold or mildew. The reaction persisted after we moved to the next house, which is only a few years old and heated with wood and electric and dry enough that it’s necessary to have a pan of water on the wood stove for humidity. Tere is no mold or mildew in that house but the allergic reaction persisted.
Since the allergic reaction, or mold bacteria attack on my sinuses at the last house, my nose ran most of the time. My sinuses were so plugged up I had to get up during the night and blow my nose in order to breathe. My nose tickled most of the time but if I rubbed it, it would begin to feel somewhere between a tickle and burning.
A few hours after the first application of iodine to my abdomen almost all my allergic symptoms were either gone or greatly diminished. By bedtime I had hardly any sinus problems. I didn’t have to get up during the night to blow my nose and by the next morning, only a slight dryness in my nose remained. The dryness was probably due to blowing my nose a lot for a couple of weeks.
Iodine easily attaches to and penetrates almost any surface. That can be verified by how it can get on your clothes or other items when you can’t even remember it coming close to the object. It works in basically the same way on infections, bacteria and viruses. Iodine encapsulates and destroys them while leaving skin and cells relatively intact.
When I was young, if I got a sore throat or cold, my mother would swab my throat with iodine using a long cotton tipped swab. I hated the taste and would keep my sore throat a secret until I couldn’t stand it any longer. In a few minutes the pain would be gone and not come back. Why is it we complicate our lives and suffer unnecessarily when it’s our choice to do otherwise?
I’ve read that one of the symptoms of iodine saturation is a slightly runny nose. When that happens, I’ll know I’ve reached my saturation point. At the time of this writing, I have relocated the spot for my iodine blotch. I intentionally didn’t use the word “patch” because some may think it’s a patch that can be purchased and not be able to locate it. My blotch is now on the inner side of my left forearm. That way I can roll up my sleeve and not rub any of the iodine off. This gives me a better test as to when I’m saturated. Since I work at home and my wife also has red/orange spots, it isn’t a problem and no coworker might tend to think I have some kind of creeping orange fungal disease.
You may have sub-clinical hypothyroidism , below detection using most methods, and not know it. If so, and you’ve had problems with any of the symptoms listed in second paragraph, you took precautions to saturate with iodine and you experience health benefits, I’d appreciate being contacted so I can pass the information along to others.
We’re all different and nothing works the same for everyone. Your best iodine saturation method may be different than mine, so if you’re not satisfied with the results, by all means try one of the others in my previous article. All methods are too easy and inexpensive to warrant taking a chance. Besides you may find, like I did, there are other benefits as well.
